Easter Sunday

Jace came running into our room at 2 am shouting THE EASTER BUNNY CAME!  Then he ran in his room and woke Cade up.  Me and Curtis were like go back to bed!!!  They crashed in our room and than were up at 7 again.  They really got into Easter this year.  The Easter Bunny hide all their hard boiled eggs outside.  So they got to go out and find them!! That snicky bunny!  We got dressed in our new church clothes and went to church.  I had to a feeling to leave early and im glade that I did.  My grandma Horrocks was going in for surgery this morning and they said there was a good chance her heart wouldnt make it.  So I got to Aimee's and her mom sent me up to the hospital.  When I got there I had a little meltdown.  I know that grandma has lived a great life and the time is comming for her to return home, but it just hit me that she could be gone!  Wow! I never thought that this day would come.  I love my grandma dearly and am super close to her.  So I got there just in time to give her a big huge and kiss and tell her that I loved her.  She looked at me and said Jessica Ill be going home soon.  I lost it again.  I just love her so much.  We hung out in the waiting room for a little bit and then left to go to Jared's to proceed with our Easter as planned. Mom did stay up at the hospital.  Jared had to catch the Halliburton plane at 1 so we wanted to see him before he left.  We had a bbq and a big egg hunt for the kids. It was just hard because everyone was just so sad and worried.  We were trying to be happy for the kids and not sad.  After we were done everyone headed to the hospital or home. I took the boys home for some long over due naps.  Curts parents stopped by to see the boys and told me that they went up to see my mom and that my Grandma had pulled threw the surgery and was doing great.  Now the recovery is whats going to be hard.  Me and Aimee went up to see her tonight and she was a little loopy but she new who we were and was trying to talk to us.  I'm glade everything turned out ok.  Its been an exhausting weekend but we all had a really good catching up with family.  I'm so thankful for what Easter represents and all that my savior did for me.  I know with all my heart that one day we will be with him again.  I'm thankful for my family and all that they do and I hope that as time goes on we stay close.

Easter Saterday

We woke up early this morning to meet my brother and his wife Aimee and my nephew Easton at Smiths.  It was really fun.  The kids got to eat breakfast which was chocolate milk and donuts.  They thought they were yummy.  After that we got ready for the egg and candy hunt.  The boys were so very excited. Jace and Cade got so much candy.  They filled their baskets to the top.  I will defiently go back next year.  Not to crowded and all the kids went a way with something. Afterwards they had to go show Grandpa and Grandma Spafford all their candy.  Next we went with Jared and Aimee up to Jubilee to meet the Easter Bunny and decorate sugar cookies.  Cade wasnt to sure of the Easter Bunny but once we gave him a stuffed animal he was ok. Easton on the other hand didnt like him much.  We had such a good morning.  At noon we went over to Curtis parents house for a bbq.  It was so yummy!!  I ate so much potatoe salad!! YUM! After we ate me and Debbie went and hide the eggs.  The boys loved looking for the eggs.  They each got an egg with an X in it and they won a prize from Grandma.  They were a bucket and a shovel for outside.  So cute. My  mother in law always finds the cutest stuff at the hospital gift shop.  After that we headed home so the boys could take a nap before we headed up to the rec center.  My brother Jeremy was having his bday party there.  The boys love to swim. Jace more than Cade.  We got up there and only my Dad, Jordan, and Jerika showed up. I guess when they went to pick up Grandma Horrocks from the Beehive home she had fell and the ambulance was taking her to the hospital. My mom went with her.  She ended up breaking her hip and has to have surgery tomorrow at noon. She is 92 and its a very high risk surgery but not doing it is dangerous too. We are just hoping that she will make it.  We lost my Grandpa Horrocks 24 years ago on Easter Sunday so we are all a little nervous.  I cant imagine her gone.  We are keeping positive though. So back to the bday party.  We were all there minus mom.  I wasn't going to go swimming but got talked into it. I hate wearing a swim suit but what can you do.  Me and Jeremy and Jared and Dianne went down the water slide. Holy Crap!! You get hauling and let me tell you it was the first time I have ever had a water wedgie!!!LOL We  had to drag Jerika out of the pool. She loved it. It was a very fun day.  Tomorrow we have lots planned.  Its been a busy weekend and we have loved every minute of it.

Easter Friday

Tonight we headed to Lapoint to go to my parents and meet up with everyone.  I love being with my family.  There is nothing better.  Its always loud and crazy, but it is worth every minute together.  There are 4 rowdy boys and they love to play together.  Tonight was egg dying night.  So I tried my silk dying again and I found out that the darker the tie the better it works.  Also if you let them cool longer it helps the color transfer.  Ill post pics below.  Jace has been asking all week to dye eggs.  He has been so excited.  Tonight he was in heaven.  We dyed 6 doz eggs.  It was messy but so worth it.  Jace and Cade and my sisters hands were blue.  The blue dye was awesome!!  They looked like they had Smurf hands.  After wards we made Rootbeer and Orange floats.  We all sat around and talked.  It was so calming to sit and just listen to everyone.  The kids were acting like dogs and running around.  My two nephews  Easton and Konner are so much fun.  I love spending time with them.  Konner is so cuddly.  I love to hold him.  This weekend we have lots of fun things planned. Today is my brother Jeremys bday, he is 26 yrs old. Tomorrow we are going swimming for his party. Ill be posting lots more all weekend long.
Cade had to wear on old tshirt of Jerikas because he went outside and
fell into a mud hole. I mean like head to toe have to take a bath kind
of a mess.

Adventures with Eggs

So this Easter I have been trying to think of new ways to dye eggs. I have found some really cool things thanks to my favorite blogs!! Me and Aimee have been finding old ties or anything that is 100% silk.  We hit the DI and Old Hags and Bags and raided my father in laws closet. We have found some pretty cool things. I wanted to test this out before we get together with everyone just to make sure it works. So you start with a raw egg and wrap it in 100% silk with the right side of the fabric facing the egg. Then you twist tie it together. Next you cut up an old light colored pillow case or sheet and wrap the egg in in and then twist tie it again.  You get you water boiling and add 1/3 cup of vinegar. Put the eggs in and boil for 30 min.  I only did 20 but i think if I would of boiled it longer the dye would of transferred better.  You take them out of the water and then let them cool and than unwrap them and see the cool design that it leaves on the egg. The blog that i was on, her eggs look really awesome.  The 3 we did, didn't turn out as bright. That why I think next time I will let them boil longer.  The kids really enjoyed it though. I could find Jaces egg today and asked him where it was. He went to the fridge and got it out of the egg carton and said "Mom its just hanging out with its friends" I laughed so hard. What little kids don't think of.

The top egg was wrapped in a darker silk and the bottom egg was in like a yellow colored silk. I hope my next pics will be better.  Its a really fun idea and a different way to do eggs.

Gymnastics

Jace is so full of energy and he is the biggest dare devil. It sometimes gives me a heart attack!! So i was thinking what I could get him into that would help him in these two areas!!  Then I saw an Ad in the paper for a Super Hero Gymnastics class. I thought that was right up his alley.  Two things he loves Super Hero's and Flipping.  He has been 3 times now and absolutely loves it.  I think its something that we might pursue for him if he keeps interested.  He gets to dress up if he wants and he usually goes as Spider Man.  He is learning how to do flips, rolls and its teaching him balance. He teacher is really awesome. She always has fun stuff planned. Last Tue they got silly string and they got to spray it every where.  It was Spider webs!  Jace has no FEAR! He is the only kid who will jump on the tramp and do a flip off onto the mat.  He is always amazing me at what he can accomplish for being so little still.  I am so proud of him for doing this.  Its been a great learning experience for him so far.

Maddie's 1st Birthday

My best friend Debra Slaugh's little girl Maddie turned 1 at the end of March. She is the cutest thing you have ever seen.  She is  so little and petite!!!  Me and the boys and Aimee and Easton all went to her party.  She was so not interested in opening her presents but she totally loved her cake!! We love you Maddie!!!
