Its All About the Kissing.....

This past weekend me and by friend Debra got to go out to Logan,Ut to a VIP dinner and book signing with our favorite author.....Marcia Lynn McClure!! It was fabulous!!  This was my second time meeting her and she is an absolute jewel.  She is the nicest person ever.  She takes her time to talk to you and she acts like she has known you for years.  So about a month ago we saw that this on her website and it was going to be her only book signing this year.  We got our tickets and were so excited.  It was being held at The American West Heritage Center in Wellsvilend , UT.  When we got there we were taken by horse drawn wagons back to the old west town.  Then we got to go to the VIP dinner were Marcia and her husband and children were there.  Her husband came sweeping in dressed as the Highwayman and swept her off her feet and gave her a big old kiss!!!(its from one of her books) Everyone was cheering!! During the dinner they gave away some gift baskets and Debra won one of them!! Also her and her husband Kevin and there 2 boys Mitch and Trent went around talking to everyone. It was very exciting.  Then we stood in line at the Opera House for like 1 1/2 hours to get our books signed by her.  Why we were waiting the people of the Heritage Center would put on little scenes and they were so cool!! The saloon girl got stolen and then there was a gun fight or 2 cowboys would have a shoot out!! It was really cool! When they got shot there was even blood splatter!!! Me and Debra were the very last in the VIP line and when we got to the table Marica asked us if we had our picture taken with her husband and boys!! I was so embarrassed!! So she had one of her assistants take us to them to get our picture taken!!!  How embarrassing.  Ill tell you why!  Every women under 80 was all over them all night long!! It was hilarious!! What good sports they were. I think they were more popular than their MOM!!  At every book signing and in all of her books she always has pictures of them and she totally poses them to match the books sometimes and I must say they are quite good looking! So the picture at the bottom of this posting is the most embarrassing picture I have ever taken! and we look so hot in it!!  The wind was blowing so hard!!  i would destroy it if not for the funny factor of the story behind it!! Debra and I will have that to laugh over for years to come.  Another embarrassing moment was when we were standing in line one of her assistance came around asking if anyone had the book Weathered to Young because the guy on the front of it was here and you could have him sign your book and get his autograph.  So of course I had the book so he signed it the cowboy on the cover!! I don't know who was more embarrassed him or us. He didn't know that he was going to be so popular!! I think the guy was even from Duchesne.  So back to Marcia, if you haven't read any of her books you must!! I own them all except for a couple that are just coming out and have read them over and over.  Some of my favorites are Heavenly Surrender, The Visions of Ransom Lake, The Touch of Sage, Dusty Britches, The Time of Aspen Falls.... I could keep going on because they are all so good!! Check out her website at marcialynnmcclure.com.  Her favorite tag line is Its All About the Kissing!  I love it!! I did feel kind of stalkerish but it was a good time.  We even found out the next morning at breakfast that we were staying at the same hotel as them when some of the family came down for breakfast!!  We thought that was cool.  We also got a lot of shopping done in Park City and Logan.  It was such a fun Girls Weekend!!
Me and Debra

Every table was decorated to represent a book. Our table was The Fragrance of Her Name

I totally had to take a picture of my dinner!! It was yummy

Debra and her gift basket. I was totally jealous because she got a personal book from Marcia's personal collections of Tennyson.  How cool is that.  That comes to play in her book Weathered to Young. The 2 main characters read the book.

The Heritage Center actors

Were the books signing was

Me and Debra with the Weathered to Young Cowboy!! How funny is it that I don't know his name nor can i read his signature!!!hahaha so he is the cowboy from the cover
