Kindergarten Assessment

Have you ever felt so embarrassed that you just want to hide?  This happened to me last week when I took Jace down to Naples Elementary for his Kindergarten Assessment with his teach Mrs. Perry.  Jace was so excited to see his teacher and his class room.  We go in and his teacher gets started. It starts out OK then it just goes from bad to worse!!hahaha  His teacher laid in front of him the alphabet in random order and asked him to tell her what the letter were.  So Jace just starts randomly naming letters! A,B,R,X,Y,P....... I don't think he got one right!  Than he was asked to say the sounds and every letter to him made the H and P sound!  Than he was asked to count as high as he could. So he starts 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,18,20,400,75,80.......Then he was asked some rhyming questions and oh my heck!!!  Lets just say that went about as good! So much for 2 years of preschool!  I think he was really nervous and just being himself.  The teacher was like its OK, they forget over the summer and it will come back.  I guess I should have worked with him more this summer.  It was just so darn funny to listen to him. He is a great B-ser! I think I'm in big trouble!!hahaha Jace is already to start school! We are hoping to have a wonderful year with a wonderful teacher!!

On Aug. 8th my little sister turned 12 years old.  I really cant believe she is that old.  I still can remember when she was born.  I was 15 and so excited for a little sister.  Despite all that she had to over come, we all loved her so much.  We were all so protective of her especially my mom.  I still can remember when she was not quite a year old I would tell my mom that I was going to take her on a walk.  I would take her over to the school playground and take off her shoes and we would play in the sand.  We would sit there for ever and she would just run her toes threw the sand.  If my mom had known she would of gotten so mad because she was so afraid of her getting sick.  To this day Jerika loves the park. I like to think it was because I taught her early on to love it.  For her birthday she wanted to go to the splash park.  The whole family was there.  It was really nice to see all my siblings and my nephews.  Jerika got lots of fun presents and we ate pizza until we were stuffed!!  Jerika got a new swimming suit for her party and she thought it was the coolest thing ever.  I love her so much!! Happy Birthday Sis!!!

Demoliton Derby 2011

On Sat. July 30th we came down from the mountain to take the boys to the derby.  It was nice because we got to go home and shower first!!!   The boys got to watch the Monster motorcycle guys jump.  That was really neat! It always gives me a heart attack watching it though.  The derby was really cool.  They had a lot of entries this year.  They even did 4 wheeler races too.  Jace and Cade got to see the Jazz bear even.  It was fun to spend time with them.  Afterwards we headed back up to finish camping.

3rd Annual Camping Trip

For 3 years now we have gotten together with our friends and went camping together.  It is so much fun. We hope to still be doing this when we are all 50 years old.  I must say I have some of the best friends ever!! Our camping group consists of our family, Joey and Debra Slaugh and there kids Quentyn, Timberlyn, Draydyn, Madalyn.  Billi and Cal Cook and their kids Kasey, Abby, Hadley and Cooper.  Tyra and Todd Munroe and their boys Dillon, Daron and Dawson.  Kiley and Dena Moore and their boys Devin and Dalon. Dena has her friend Sherry Thompson and her 2 kids come up to.  This year Kiley picked the spot and it was up by Basset Springs on the other side of the highway.  Ive heard it called several names so i don't know!!  We went up on thur. and came home sun.  We had perfect weather.  What I love is everyone up their takes a meal so you only really end up cooking one big meal for everyone and your own lunches.  Me and Curtis had breakfast on Friday morning.  We made hash browns, pancakes and sausage. I think it has something to do with being on the mtn but food always tastes better up there.  On thur. me and Debra took the boys on a walk and they found so many mushrooms! Who would of thought!! Not me. We saw white, brown, yellow, orange, red mushrooms.  It was cute because Draydyn was like Jace don't ruin them animals live in them!! I got a kick out of them talking! It was cute.  On Friday everyone went up to Flaming Gorge Dame.  We missed the last tour by an 1hr but we let the kids look around and it was still fun.  On sat. me and Curtis and the boys came down for the demolition derby.  My mother in law got us some really good tickets so we thought we would use them.  It was really good this year. The boys loved it! It was worth coming down for. Afterwards we went back up. The boys, mainly Cade, loved to go 4 wheeling! That's what he wanted to do the whole time!  Jace only went like once, which is really surprising.  Cal brought up his mini truck again this year and Jace went on many rides with him.  I'm so glade that my boys love the outdoors!  Sunday was hard because nobody wanted to leave.  I love to go camping so much! It is so peaceful up on the mountain.  We all said our goodbyes and headed home.  Even though we all live in Vernal we don't get to see each other to often so it was nice to hang out and catch up!!  Until next year!!!
